    A HPTLC procedure for the characterization of adulteration of " espinheira santa ( Maytenus sp) with Sorocea bomplandii by monitoring their flavonoid content with the aid of diphenylboric reagent, is presented. HPTLC data showed the predominance of higly glycosated quercetin and kaempferol derivatives.
